Xavier University School Of Medicine maintains that academic excellence is our priority and it is worthy of recognition. Therefore we have implemented a new scholarship program that reflects this attitude while rewarding the hard work and achievements of the eligible candidates. Incoming Basic Science and Premedical candidates, applying for scholarships, must meet the following criteria.
Basic Science Applicants
Incoming Basic Science applicants must meet the following:
- Enrolled for semesters MD1, MD2, MD3 and MD4.
- GPA of 3.5 or qualifies for $1500.00 per semester.
- MCAT 25 to 29 qualifies for $1500.00 per semester.
- MCAT 30 to 34 qualifies for $2000.00 per semester.
- MCAT 35 or greater qualifies for $3250.00 per semester.
Premedical Applicants
Incoming Premedical applicants must meet the following:
- GPA of 3.5 or greater qualifies for $1000.00 per semester.
OR
- SAT of 1800 or greater qualifies for $1000.00 per semester.
Applicants meeting other criteria
Applications are also accepted for the additional two Scholarship Programs, qualified Minorities and applicants with prior US military active duty service. Scholarship details are available from the office of the Assistant Vice President of Operations.
Scholarships are available starting September 2011. Scholarship eligibility ends upon completion of the Basic Science semesters MD1, MD2, MD3 and MD4.
Renewal of the scholarship is on a semester by semester basis for which the candidate's must maintain Honors status.
