Xavier University School Of Medicine maintains that academic excellence is our priority and it is worthy of recognition. Therefore we have implemented a new scholarship program that reflects this attitude while rewarding the hard work and achievements of the eligible candidates. Incoming Basic Science and Premedical candidates, applying for scholarships, must meet the following criteria. Scholarships are awarded towards the tuition fees as applicable.

Entrance Scholarships

Entrance scholarships are awarded as per incoming applicant academic excellence guidelines. Students qualifying for these scholarships should refer to the admissions department for more information. Entrance scholarships applies one time ONLY to the semester in which the student seeks enrollment. For recurring scholarships please refer to the On-going Scholarships section to the right.

Basic Science Applicants
Incoming Basic Science applicants must meet the following:

• Enrolled for semesters MD1, MD2, MD3 and MD4.
• GPA of 3.5 or higher qualifies for $1750.00.
• MCAT 25 to 29 qualifies for $1500.00.
• MCAT 30 to 34 qualifies for $2000.00.
• MCAT 35 or greater qualifies for $3250.00.

Premedical Applicants
Incoming Premedical applicants must meet the following:

• GPA of 3.5 or greater qualifies for $1125.00.
OR
• SAT of 1800 or greater qualifies for $1125.00.
OR
• ACT of 26 or greater qualifies for $1125.00.

Transfer Applicants

• Students transferring from a Caribbean medical school qualify for a $1000.00 scholarship (one-time toward first semester tuition).

USMLE STEP 1 Scholarship
The following USMLE Step 1 qualifies for scholarships:

• Passing score up to 199 qualifies for $350.00.
OR
• Score of 200 to 224 qualifies for $500.00.
OR
• Score of 225 and above qualifies for $740.00.

Applicants meeting other criteria
Applications are also accepted for the additional Scholarship Programs applicants with prior US military active duty service. Scholarship details are available from the office of the Assistant Vice President of Operations. (info@xusom.com)

Scholarship eligibility ends upon completion of the Basic Science semesters MD1, MD2, MD3 and MD4.
