The Department of International Programs of Xavier University School of Medicine aims to promote the interaction between our Caribbean medical school and international higher education organizations and institutions. It also aims to support and implement technical, scientific, and cultural cooperation agreements. This makes the interchange of undergraduate and graduate students possible, allowing DIP to receive students benefited by those agreements. The DIP acts as an important support place for foreign students.
Science Without Borders is a Brazilian Government scholarship program which aims to send 100,000 Brazilian students abroad to study science, health science technology, engineering and mathematics.
As one of the Universities selected to take part in this scholarship scheme, Xavier University is looking forward to welcoming Brazilian students to our world class Caribbean medical school. Science Without Borders applicants at undergraduate level can participate in Xavier University visiting student programs.
Nuffic facilitates SwB Holland on behalf of the Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). CNPq and Nuffic have signed a Cooperative agreement on 17th January 2012 through which both parties initiate a module of the Science without Borders program called SwB Holland. The agreement foresees annually 200 scholarship in the sandwich model on undergraduate level, 200 in the sandwich PhD model, 100 scholarships for full PhD studies and 100 scholarships for Postdoc research in the Netherlands. Xavier University School of Medicine is proud to be a Caribbean Medical school that is participating in this worldwide event.
